I am Dimitri Soboleff, a Boeing 747 cargo pilot flying across continents, often at night, transporting artwork and cargo between worlds that never truly stop.
These journeys have shaped the way I see the world. Photography became a natural extension of this life in motion—a way to slow time and give form to fleeting moments. It can be a sunset seen from the cockpit, a walk along Fifth Avenue in New York City, a street scene in Buckhead, Atlanta, a moment in a bar in Houston, the narrow streets of the old market in Jaffa, Tel Aviv, or inspiring scenes from my favorite places in Laos, Thailand, and Bali.
My work is rooted in black and white, where light, contrast, and structure reduce each scene to its essence. I photograph what lies between destinations: silence, tension, geometry, and atmosphere—moments that exist only once and never repeat.
This visual approach has led me to work in environments where design, engineering, and heritage converge. In Stuttgart, I developed photographic projects around Porsche, exploring form, light, and movement in an industrial and architectural context. My work also evolves within the Leica environment, whose philosophy of restraint, craftsmanship, and timelessness closely aligns with my vision.
What began as a personal passion has evolved into a professional practice. My photographs have been exhibited in galleries, recognized through awards, and commissioned for artistic and brand collaborations.
Through my images, I offer a contemporary vision of the world—seen through the eyes of a long-haul pilot.
I am open to exhibitions, commissioned work, and partnerships that value authenticity, narrative, and strong visual identity. I am particularly interested in projects related to branding, visual identity, and modeling, where photography, image, and storytelling converge.
